MTA Metrocard Fares Effective March 22, 2015

The base fare will increase to $2.75 (Reduced-Fare $1.35). The Pay-per Ride MetroCard Bonus Value will increase to 11% and the minimum amount you must add in order to obtain the bonus will increase to $5.50. Single-ride tickets will increase to $3.00. The 7-Day Unlimited Ride Pass will increase to $31.00 (Reduced-Fare $15.50). The 30-Day Unlimited Ride Pass will increase to $116.50 (Reduced-Fare $58.25). The base Express Bus fare will increase to $6.50 (Reduced-Fare $3.25 off-peak only) The 7-Day Express Plus Pass will increase to $57.25 * An additional $1 will be charged for each new metrocard purchased (does not apply to replacing a damaged or expiring card, reduced fare cards and some other exceptions) For more information check the MTA New Fares page.

For $5.50 you will get 2 Pay Per Ride Trips with a $.61 balance (+ $0.61 bonus equaling $6.11) For $10.00 you will get 4 Pay Per Ride Trips with a $.10 balance (+ $1.10 bonus equaling $11.10) For $15.00 you will get 6 Pay Per Ride Trips with a $.15 balance (+ $1.65 bonus equaling $16.65) For $20.00 you will get 8 Pay Per Ride Trips with a $.20 balance (+ $2.20 bonus equaling $22.20) For $2.75 you will get EXACTLY 1 Pay Per Ride Trips (+ $0.00 bonus equaling $2.75) For $22.30 you will get EXACTLY 9 Pay Per Ride Trips (+ $2.45 bonus equaling $24.75) For $27.25 you will get EXACTLY 11 Pay Per Ride Trips (+ $3.00 bonus equaling $30.25) The 7-Day Unlimited Ride Pass will save you money if you make more than 12 trips per week. The 30-Day Unlimited Ride Pass will save you money if you make more than 47 trips per month.
